How we review crypto cards
Independent, evidence-based reviews built from official issuer documentation — never marketing copy.
Scope
CoinsOnCards covers consumer crypto debit and credit cards offered to retail customers. We track issuer, custody model, KYC tier, supported networks, fees, cashback, supported assets and wallet compatibility.
Sources
Every data point links back to an official source: the issuer's terms of service, fee schedule, pricing page, app store listing or regulator filing. We do not paraphrase marketing pages.
Rating model
Our overall rating is a weighted average of five pillars:
- Custody & security — self-custody vs. custodial, regulator, insurance.
- Cost — monthly fees, FX spread, top-up fees, ATM fees.
- Rewards — base and tiered cashback, caps, payout asset.
- Access — KYC level, supported countries, funding options.
- Usability — Apple Pay, Google Pay, app quality, supported assets.
Update cadence
Specs are reviewed at least quarterly and on every material change announced by the issuer. The "last verified" date on each card page shows when we last confirmed the data against the source.
